A favorite mantra for me is "Change is Death, Change is Life." Many people fear Change, as it disturbs their comfort, their status quo. Change is by definition the Death of the old, the established, the routine, the comfortable, and Change naturally causes in us the same reaction as Death. In response to Change, many will go through the classic stages of mourning: Denial, Anger, Grief, and Acceptance. But to avoid Change is to avoid the new, the different, the novel, the untried. Without Change, we stagnate. Adapting to Change is the proof that we are living, more than just existing. Spring is the season of Change, of renewal.
